Aloha good folk!
It seems like ages since I last emailed you all.
Just a little update on things to come.
all classes normal this week. I will be running through songs for our open uke night and Patonga Canoe Regatta which is this
Saturday 23rd March at Patonga from 10-2pm
Bring a picnic basket. I will be bringing a gazebo and so will Ian Burns so we can put them together for shade. If you have a portable gazebo or shade you are welcome to bring it along with your picnic chairs. I believe a BBQ lunch will be provided, however from past experience I will be bringing a picnic lunch just in case. Plus please bring cold drinks or an esky,
chairs, shorts, ukulele and djembe. It should be a lovely day. Please let me know if you are coming as it is supposed to be a BBQ lunch catered and they need a rough figure of how many of us will be there.
Not sure if there is mobile reception at Patonga so if you could be there by say around 9.30am that would be terrific so we can set up our little nook and shade.
Sunday 24th performance at Terrigal BPN has been postponed/ cancelled.
Our next open uke night is Thursday 28th March (no class at Club Tuggerah)
Elvis vs The Beatles.
Tall timbers Hotel, Ourimbah
6-10pm
All welcome, so if you have friends or family that would like to join us everyone’s welcome, come along and enjoy a great night.
We have several amazing acts ready to go. Please contact me if you are interested in performing a song or two.
All monies raised will be going to “Wheeling and Able” a charity raising money for kids under 21 who need wheel chairs.
Easter raffles and a great night.
Hawaii, is going well and several of you have found great travel insurance. Please share. I have heard Credit cards have free insurance, Probus, onecover are all good.
I had the meeting with the mayor and no luck so far in any help or funding but I have been given other avenues to explore.
No djembe class on Easter Saturday next one is Saturday April 6th from 12pm-2pm
Beginners Class
I will be holding a beginners class on Saturday April 6th from 10am-12pm
at Niagara park Music Rehearsal Room, Washington Ave Niagara park.
This will be over a 5 week period as I have had a number of calls regarding just a beginners class. The one at Bateau Bay is with the community College and has proved to be very popular. That comes to an end next week so if you are interested or know anyone that is interested in a beginners class please contact me or earmark April 6th.
Rob & I will also be holding intermediate classes – theory classes soon.
Gwandalan Bowling Club performance (our first Saturday night gig)
is Saturday evening April 13th at 6pm – 7pm
It’s a great place to meet and have dinner and then showtime from us. It’s creating some interest and should be a terrific night. Our band Mirrabooka is following with dance music from 7.30-10.30pm perhaps a little solo from one or two of you in that time frame may be in order.
Our Festival
I have had several phone calls with the TCM (Town Centre management) regarding our festival. There is a lot of interest from all over the country regarding our festival. which is great.
I have meetings all the first week in April and one issue has stood out and I will not know any more until I meet with them in 2 weeks. They are talking of moving our festival to December, the first week, so it’s warmer, a celebration of the beginning of summer and at that time of year we are allowed to have FIREWORKS! Also have it over 3 days. I will fill you all in after my meetings with the powers to be. Your thoughts so far?
Set list for Saturday – TBA
Sets list for Gwandalan – TBA

LOL! we’ll run through a heap of ideas and new songs this week.
Hope you are all well and preparing for the cooler weather.
Love and leave you for now
