The Ukulele
Ukulele can be easy, fun and entertaining!
According to the Guinness Book Of Records, the Ukulele is the easiest instrument to play. It does not mean you can just pick it up a Ukulele and play it, but it does mean you can learn quickly or easily. The best idea is to learn a little at a time. Practice it at a speed you are comfortable with, then move on. Because it’s the easiest instrument in the world to play you can improve and move up to a level of serious competence very quickly. You can then enjoy the Ukulele for the rest of your life!
The Ukulele is known affectionately as the “people’s instrument” and it’s making a comeback. The ukulele is no longer just associated with Hawaiian shirts or the sixties and Tiny Tim. More and more people of all ages are taking up the four-stringed instrument. There are players like Jack Johnson, bands like ‘The Waifs’ and even our number one hit ‘Train’ with ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ all feature the ukulele so they’ve brought it very much into the mainstream. It’s about music, not only because music makes you feel good but so much more of it is just about having a crack at something that you wouldn’t necessarily think you were any good at.
