The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 13,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Hello wonderful happy ukulele players.

A huge thank you to The Central Coast Ukulele Club for all your support, fundraising, donations to charity and world record.

It’s been an incredible year and thank you for all your amazing support.

Everyone has progressed amazingly and I am so proud of all your achievements throughout the year.

Our Trips to Anna Bay, Darwin, Illawarra, Darling Harbour and the Blue Mountains were a few of our performing highlights not to mention our amazing Central Coast Ukulele Festival and setting a World Record with most ukulele players playing with a Moustache!

In 2016 we plan to have just as much fun and more.

Our trip to Hawaii is shaping up to an exciting time and very cultural.

Last classes for the year and will resume with gusto on January 11^th.

Central Coast Ukulele Festival is shaping up to be one big happy fun-filled 3 nights and 2 days….in September. Come and enjoy the beautiful Entrance in spring – we invite you to celebrate with us this fabulous event. September 24-27 2015 Thursday 24th A J Leonard and Jenny Rowlands workshop and concert.

The Diggers at the Entrance, Pavilion Room 6-10pm Friday 25th – Dinner (2 courses plus tea coffee treats,) 4 acts including our main feature act from New Zealand The Nukes. $65 tickets are available by calling The Diggers direct on 4332 3399. These next events are FREE Saturday 26th – big festival day starting at the Memorial Park at 10am there will be so much incredible talent to entertain you all day so please get there early and enjoy our amazing festival. Our finale for the day will be the record attempt.  So come on ukulele men (and woman) start growing those moustaches… Our Compare is the legendary Lucky Star (yes he plays ukulele too!!) Fabulous international acts, National acts and many ukulele collectives, Hawaiian Yoga and Our World Record Attempt.  Free Event Saturday 26th night is our BIG JAM night with Mirrabooka, Ohana, plus special guests and YOU!! To strum, dance and sing out loud at The Diggers at the Entrance. Free Event. 7.30-11.30pm (or pop in early and enjoy a meal at one of 3 restaurants) Sunday 27th   9AM – 3.30pm Sails Stage.. Our ukulele breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea… Sunday is filled with amazing acts, workshops and something for everyone including a ukulele  workshop from the Nukes. 🙂  The Sails Stage is on the foreshore and offers a variety of cafe’s shops plenty of shade and seating. Free Event. The Full Program is in the making and guaranteed to bring you and invite you to have a brilliant time and fun.  Available soon. Part of the fun is going to be our attempt at the Guinness World Book Of records. Details Wanted… ukulele players willing to grow a Moustache for our festival… We are registered and ready to attempt a world record…in the Guinness world record attempt for the most ukulele players…playing and singing with a moustache for our festival… (Women optional, false moustaches welcome) Saturday 26th September.2015 .. Come on give it a go Central Coast…Blue Mountains… Unkle Cyril and the Swingalele’s…Newcastle… NSW.. this could be your big chance to get into the Guinness World Book Of records a ukulele event in Australia… we are strumming in the name of men’s Health (tied in with raising awareness for men’s health for Mo-vember).. Our Central Coast festival dates are

Thursday 24th September – The Digger@The Entrance, Central Coast Highway,  Long Jetty…

AJ Leonard and Jenny Rowlings will conduct a new workshop and concert especially for our festival. Not to be missed. This is a new show from AJ Leonard and Jenny Rowlings. Tickets on sale at the door from 5.30pm Ticket costs are $35. Call Liz on 0412837008 to pre book your tickets.

Friday 25th – Ukulele Dinner show with 2 courses plus tea/coffee and treats. Featuring one of our main international acts  The Nukes from New Zealand – these guys are fantastic, other guest acts include, Ohana, Mirrabooka and guest spots from AJ Leonard and surprise acts are scheduled during the evening.

Saturday 26th – Memorial Stage – This is the Main Festival day where and we will kick start  the festival with welcome to country with Gavi Duncan and the Central Coast Ukulele Club performance followed by a surprise performance to delight and entertain you. Mr Lucky Starr is our compare for the day and Lucky will no doubt be one of the highlights of the day.

This day is full of talented acts both nationally and internationally. Aside from the wonderful entertainment..there will be Markets, refreshments and events available all day. Bring a picnic lunch or choose to dine at the many outdoor cafés. Feel free to bring a chair, hat and enjoy the fabulous scenery and entertainment.

Saturday evening 26th – The Diggers at The Entrance will present our Super Jam and open uke night, special guests have been invited and the Mirrabooka band will conduct the evening’s super jam and fun. This is a free event full of surprises, fun and entertainment inviting our special guests to join us. Open all ages.

Sunday 27th – Sails Stage –  our ukulele breakfast… with workshops… special guests… great acts…international act, crazy acts and our junior ukulele performances plus lots more..

The Ibis Hotel at The Diggers@The Entrance are working on a discounted stay at the ukulele festival with package deals including  accommodation dinner show and breakfast deals … one night, two night and three night packages.. We will advise about this shortly.

The Waldolf Apartments at The Entrance are also offering special Ukulele Festival rates.
